Konrad Goetz about his work:

"My pictures feature motifs derived from the tiniest details in primordial stones, crystals and fossils, some of which are about 2,5 billion years old..."

"After more than forty years of passionate interest in photography, I moved away from large-scale subjects, and discovered that the smallest in fact contains the largest. My ongoing quest for the special and the unique has impelled me to penetrate even more deeply into a world which is ordinarily invisible to the naked eye."

"Only modern techniques in photography have permitted my view into an unknown primeval world. My pictures stem from a period of time, that we can hardly imagine. They are photographs of smallest details of fossils, minerals and primitive rocks - insights into a macro-cosmos, created by evolution. There is art - not created by man but discovered by the human eye - and a camera!"

"Supposedly, mankind as the last development of evolution is still in relation with our primeval background: German poet Gottfried Benn assumed that our brain has a collective memory of the primeval world. My motifs are documents of a pre-human harmony and beauty within the aura of a million years, trying to relate us to our beginning..."

"I realize how thoroughly nature is permeated by spirit. The eternal principle of change and transformation manifests itself - and one senses the presence of the infinite."
